Got my new irons (t300) in a week ago and second outing with them I shot a 76 from a previous best 79.

The biggest thing I notice with them is my misses are more narrow. Guessing it has to do with getting the lie angle right more-so than the clubs.

My second round out my 7 iron developed a rattle and the shop I bought them from thought some epoxy came loose in the hozzle but after they had their club tech look at it, he said it was a weight that came loose. They had to send it back to Titleist for repair.

Anyone know how long it will take to get my 7 iron back. I threw the 7 from my previous set back in the bag for now.

I've had a couple of repairs I've sent in and from my experience, they go faster than a new order would, but it's going to depend on what they need to do. If they have to build you a new club with your specs, it's going to depend on what they have in stock or if they have to wait for it to be available.

Whiskey, Q: with that type of low score, why did you go with the T300? Not being critical: just interested in this line of clubs from Titleist and Youtube videos keep describing them (T300) as for the higher handicapper. If you're plastering that type of score (which I never do), what was it that made you go with them and not the T200 or T100's? thx

Titleist QC Dept leaves a lot to be desired IMO.

A couple of years ago I order a set of T200's that were suppose to be 2 degrees upright and a half inch long.

Out of 8 irons only 2 were correct. My 6 iron ended up being over a degree flat and 3 clubs were standard length.

They do a good job on their woods, but I will never trust their irons again.

Every time that I get a set of irons, I have the lie, loft and length check before I leave the store.

I do tell the store upfront about that so if they have any issue with it. I will pass on ordering from them.

Equipment costs to much now days not to be right.

I’ll jump in here. I play the Srixon 565s and am a 5 handicap (lowest 3.3) I know sub scratch golfers who play Ping G425s. Why?

It’s what fits our games the best. I hit the 700 series irons from Srixon and the numbers didn’t lie. 500s we’re better for me.

If you could tie a brick to a 2x4 and shoot scratch, would you?

Yep.

There is a guy at my old club Fort Bend CC that was a plus 3 handicap and he plays Ping Zings 2 and will not change for nothing.

He has taken so much money off of would be scratch players and mini tour guys, its funny.

His nickname is Radar because he is so accurate with his irons.

I honestly went with what the guy suggested. The 200 and 100s are built for more control and I've built my game around a straight shot and not getting fancy about bending it around a corner. I can still draw an iron if I need to with the 300s but it's like a once a round or once every couple of rounds shot. I value the ball strike forgiveness more than the control factor.

He never really told me why he suggested the 300s over the 200s but I did tell him that I'm more of a straight line golfer than a control player so I suspect that's why the 300s were the club.

Oddly enough, I played with a buddy yesterday who recently got fitted into some blades. He is struggling with them. He is a better golfer than I am when his game is on, but he was candid about maybe getting a little overzealous with stepping it up to more of a blade style club.

Update: 7 iron is back in the bag. 5 day outage. Not too bad.
