Help refrigerator keeps freezing items

Typical refrigerator with a vent at the top and bottom that allows air from the freezer to the refrigerator. The top vent has a door that opens and closes to allow the cold air in. I removed the cover and the door is working so that isn't the issue. Both the fridge and the freezer are turned to the warmest possible settings. I am a lost, anyone got any ideas on what is causing the issue?

Mine does the same. I just keep stuff away from the back.

Ours is a GE profile. It has a vent or sensor or something in the back of the fridge at the top shelf.
If we get too much stuff up close to that where it can't circulate the air good, the fridge will start freezing stuff.
When it's moved its fine.

If the thermostat or sensor isn’t positioned correctly, it may be getting a false reading, allowing the compressor to run longer that it should. Removing the door cover may have contributed to this. The engineering for refrigerators are just so that any altering can have such an effect. I’d put a thermometer inside, at different locations to get an accurate reading.
