I recently installed a new ice maker, but the thing makes ice at a crazy high rate and never turns off...I've adjusted the bar that's supposed to turn it off in every imaginable way, and nothing..has anyone else experienced this or maybe know how to fix it, I'm getting really tired of having to dump out the tray every other day...here it is if a visual helps

Based on the angle of the photo, the shut off bar isn't touching the ice yet. So it's going to keep making ice.

And why are you dumping out the tray?

in past models I've seen, that bar shuts off the ice when adjusted to an up position. Are you saying it's supposed to simply touch the ice...I believe I may have tried that. And I am dumping the ice because if I don,t it overflows and every time I open my freezer I have about a half a dozen ice cubes to chase after

Ah, duh. This is a manual one...

Yeah, the arm in the up position should mean it stops making ice.

use a mirror and look a the part of the wire you cant see without a mirror and its likely to have popped out of its hole

This is a new one I installed after mine stopped making ice, and honestly this is more irritating. A bag of ice from the store nearby costs about $2 and lasts me a week.... I have to keep dumping this out every 2-3 days and even then its over flowing...ice is everywhere all the time.

Yup I'm pretty sure that was the fix. Was tough to gauge bc my power went out yesterday, but I repositioned it and set the bar to off and didnt make a cube all night. Pushed it down this morning and made ice withing 5 mins. Thanks!
