What about the damage to the NBA franchise, its future and its fans?

AD has acted with class

AD has quit on his employer that he has a contract with and has acted as selfishly as you possibly can.

He tried to strong arm said employer into a trade with the Lakers and it blew up in his face and now he is taking the victim route.

it's an unprecedented situation that is quite complex. the league is basically in CYA mode here. Davis filing a grievance would most assuredly result in a loss for the Pels.

Pels have to eat a bit of a shite sandwich (simply because they need to play Davis) but i dont think its nearly as garment rending as others.

not really sure what damage is being done to the franchise or its fans. to be honest, fans are more fired up about a shitty team than they have any right to be because of la affaire Davis

eta- to echo the kushner article, they need someone besides Gentry (i.e. someone with actual decision making power) to come out and be the mouthpiece of the team to talk to the fans. to keep them fired up. to let them know there is a plan (even if there isn't)
