The spread offenses are like watching a Jason Statham movie !
All this action but no real plot or substance.
Just whoever scores last. No strategy. 4 1/2 hour of fluff.
Lord help us all.

Yeah I hate scoring points too.

You must hate the NFL too because it is slowly changing into that as well. Do you know how many games were shootouts or how many times somebody put up 50+ points?

its ebb and flow with offensive vs. defense. The wishbone used to be unstoppable but no one plays that nowadays.
The spread will stick around for a good long time, but defenses will adapt, and the shootouts will slowly die.

The one difference that may allow this style to stick around for a long time is defenses are no longer allowed to hit anyone hard. There is no price to pay for the QB dropping back 50 times a game or WRs running routes over the middle. 15 yard flag every time you think about hitting them hard.

the style will stick around for a long time for sure, but it won't be as successful. It may become the default offense but defenses will get better at defending it. And then someone will return to some other offensive style (power I) and have success and suddenly that will be the rage.
