LSU defense now basically a 3-4 with…

Maason Smith at strong side DE, and BJ at weak side pass rush DE. Gaye seemingly could play either. On obvious pass situations you would probably move Smith inside with Gaye and BJ crashing. Could be a nightmare pass rush. Be interesting to see how the linebackers fill behind a bigger option in Smith.

We ran a 3-4 for years yet we have fewer game ready LBs now than when Aranda arrived in 2016. Kendall McCallum somewhere on campus getting his degree laughing at Aranda

No. Gaye and mason will play run downs in a typical 4/3 or nickle

What does Aranda have to do with Orgeron trying to change the defense to a 4-3? The LBs were awesome with Aranda.

should have never switched from 3/4 to a 4/3 or 4-2-5... the 3-4 defense is so multiple... numbers just work out better...
or at least have someone on the Dline thats 340 that eats up two blockers.. we had two dudes that were great NT. Shelvin and Ika... they caused havoc that no one saw and it freed up the numbers for an All-americans like Devin white and Queen to cause havoc...Aranda was a damn genius... and the Best DC we ever had...

I dont know about "Obvious" those other big boys we driving through double teams and causing ciaos
