Dear Diary,

Every aspect of business is regularly audited. Not just taxes but so much else- your policies and procedures, surveillance and physical security, workplace safety, and on and on. It's audited regularly to make sure you are doing things that you are supposed to do. The government and other institutions (insurance companies, banks, etc) don't just take your word for it. They want proof of compliance, and they want it annually.

How in the hell were there not already regular auditing activities around elections? The audits would not necessarily have to be for every single precinct nationwide, but spot checking precincts here and there, and only digging deeper if the auditor finds too many red flags. I just assumed this already happened. It blows my mind this isn't already a common procedure in elections.

And now that something that should have already been an ongoing process is suggested and one side screams bloody murder is just demonic. It's sick. Weren't these same people screaming about election hacking and integrity from the top of Mount Sinai for three years?

[mike gundy voice] It makes me want to puke.

Thanks for listening.

Why have retention if you can’t Audit, or question a result. From the DOJ no less…. Clown World, America is done

Based on what happened last time, I believe elections haven’t been closely monitored or audited in a long time. Leftists took note of that, drew up a plan, and we have a drooling incontinent vegetable in the White House.

Aside from whatever fraud may or may not have taken place, I can admit I was honestly stunned at just how shitty most areas seemed to be when it came to the actual process of storing and tabulating results. We used to have better control over doing fricking inventory at the old Alfalfa Video I worked at in the early 90s, and that was run by a 30 something burnout and a group of college students.

Nah, the "audits" that happen are simple recounts. They pass them off as appropriate substitutes because we never have full audits of our elections. Recounts assume the original votes were legitimate. Audits are performed to make sure that assumption is true.

Oh I know the drill. I have to participate in audits of my employer on a regular basis, mainly around security and facility stuff, and some data protection things. It blows my mind that elections didn't already go through something like this.

Seriously, every election you hear about hijinks here and there, generally low level stuff, how did/do they find those hijinks without some kind of audit process?

Elections are only audited when Republicans win.
