Mold inspector is recommending we detail and remediate HVAC system for mold. Just curious if anyone has had to do this and what kind of cost am I looking at.

Is this for a residential HVAC system? Is the existing ductwork a mix of rigid and flex duct?

It may be more cost effective to replace all the duct with new versus duct cleaning...

It’s residential. Flex duct work. I was thinking the same but wasn’t sure what to do or cost.

My understanding is flex duct can not be effectively cleaned, rigid duct can, so flex duct would likely need to be replaced. More importantly, have a HVAC company investigate why there is a significant mold issue in the ducts to begin with and remediate the cause.
