Biggest advice: this isn’t a city builder as much as a traffic simulator.

Traffic simulation has always been a thing, but Skylines takes it to a level you might not expect/realize.

Every single vehicle is doing a task with a effect. Transporting goods(for businesses to sell or as raw material for production)/cims/services.

Every. Single. One

So if you plop a fire station on a one way, it has to send trucks all the way around into to respond to a call up stream.

Their focus on tweaking traffic management and transportation options in pretty much every DLC confirms this. Transportation layout is 100% the most important thing in this game.

One thing I definitely neglected early on was creating options for travel that didn't involve a vehicle. Zoning residential near commercial zones and providing walking/biking paths is actually a significant relief to traffic on the road.

I’ve racked up 255 hours. Recently just built a fairly nice city.

Cities tend to get boring whenever the tax base is high enough to support positive cash flow. After that happens, might as well move on to another city.

No, it’s quite fun, or I wouldn’t have spent 11 days of my life playing it.

How It Started: Just gonna use small roads and follow the topo contours of the map to make things look natural

How It’s Going: BRUTAL GRID

This is the Cities Skylines equivalent of no matter what type of character you set out to create in skyrim, you'll always just be a sneaky archer.

I always loved city building games like SimCity but my playthroughs usually end up with me building an interesting city to a decent size before losing interest and destroying everything with natural disasters.

We can confirm that we are currently working on a project with Colossal Order, but it is still too early in development to share more information at this time.
