Looking at making the trip this year for lsu game since I haven't been there before and we don't play there that often. Would be flying into Louisville bc its a good bit cheaper. I see that Louisville is just over an hour away from Lexington. Would you suggest staying in Louisville or Lexington ? Will be Mrs jkyle and I. Don't really care about bars or nightlife but would like to do a little sightseeing and good eatin while we're over that way. Any tips or feedback appreciated

I’ve never been to Lexington but the wife and I are flying into Louisville early Friday afternoon. We are staying 2 nights in Lexington and flying out Sunday morning. Not planning on much sightseeing, maybe visit Keeneland and a nice dinner Friday night. Sleep in and have a nice breakfast somewhere and head to the stadium.

What about bourbon? You could do some distillery tours between Louisville and Lexington.
Could also hit mammoth cave National park south of Louisville if you had an extra day.

Mammoth sounds nice. We will prob fly up early Friday so that could work.

There is also the ark encounter north of Lexington. It is expensive for what it is, but some people may enjoy it.
Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace and boyhood home are also on the area.
Corvette museum in bowling green.

Louisville is a cooler city with more lodging, dining, and entertainment options. If trekking to and from Lexington on game day isn't a big deal I would stay in Louisville. The drive isn't bad at all

Awesome thanks. Some other posters on the Rant suggested flying into cincy. I think there's more I'd like to do and see in Louisville though. The drives are pretty similar time wise.
