Russian Culture is Healthier Than Ours

This is from the Hermitage Museum. They’re asking their guests how to make the Hermitage more appealing to men.
I was struck by the language.
Women are beautiful, and they give wise advice (note, not commands).
And men, men are brave. Not incompetent fools. They’re also referred to as gentleman.
And the language is entirely earnest. It’s genuine. Not snide. Not sarcastic. There’s no cynicism.
This is a very minor example, and it’s coming from a very educated substrata of Russian society, but you can see the basic assumptions they make about gender, and idealism.
It resonated with me, because I recognized it. This is how the Russian women I’ve known think.
quote:
Dear beautiful women! Today we were surprised to discover that three quarters of our audience are girls and ladies, while only a quarter of boys and gentlemen. Therefore, on this Fatherland Defender Day, we want to address you and ask a serious question: How can we make your brave men become our Hermitage subscribers and visitors equal to you? We are waiting for your wise advice in the comments.

Our "culture" ??!!??
Our "culture" is a Death Culture and all who participate in this "culture" is suicidal.
The Party is the "culture" - the Leftist Globalist Internationalist Socialist US Democratic Party is the culture.
Our "culture" is what China gives to us as our "culture."

I agree, our popular culture is a death culture.
Look at how we fetishize abortion.
There’s also been a strong prole drift for at least fifty years in the US.
I don’t believe China has a strong culture influence on us. Puritan New England, yes, Hollywood, yes, but not China.
China just exploits our moral rot.

If what you say is true, then, China would have little influence on it if the US culture wanted to make a film featuring a US fighter pilot wearing a uniform featuring squadron patches from a place like Taiwan. Is that fair to say?
And yet, Tom Cruise's new "Top Gun" picture did just that and China forced him to make a change, thus, imposing a direct impact on an aspect of US culture, i.e. US motion pictures.
I do see your point, but, I think you underestimate the extent to which China has some control over US "culture". The new Top Gun film is a strong example that supports my contention.

The Chinese will demand we censor ourselves, and our greedy media will comply. But I think our problems go much deeper, and they’re not the product of foreign influence.
The Chinese aren’t behind our glorification of abortion, we are responsible for that.

If I had to move to another country, Russia would be near the top of the list. Of course South Vietnam would be high simply because you could retire there with 500k American Dollars and live a life of luxury with ease.
