3 to play 2.

I expect him here for 2 years unless he has a Patrick Queen type of season

Is he a grad transfer? Clemson fans are saying that he already got his degree. I thought we couldn't take a grad transfer this year

We could if they had multiple years of eligibility. I don't know exactly the rule why.

The reason is simply because he is immediately eligible without having to qualify as a grad transfer. Meeting the criteria of a grad transfer is one way to get immediate eligibility, but it is not the *only* way. Mike Jones has immediate eligibility because of Covid, so we don't need to count him as a grad transfer. Thus, the fact that he has already graduated doesn't play into his eligibility at all.

Just because he has earned his degree does not mean he is a grad transfer. We can't take a grad transfer this year because of issues with Jabril Cox's academics. Luckily, qualifying as a grad transfer is not the only way a transfer can gain immediate eligibility. Mike Jones gets immediate eligibility under the Covid waiver. Thus, we have no need for him to qualify as a grad transfer. So instead he is a normal transfer who just so happens to have graduated.

Jones had three years of eligibility left. However, he’s draft eligible after the 21 season. The question would be will he stay or go pro.

He only took 2 years to graduate? I'm missing something, right?

Nevermind. Got it. Redshirt/Played Redshirt Frosh & Soph seasons. Graduated in 3. Gotta love that influence on the younger guys.

Redshirted one year and last year doesn't count, so he has only used one year of playing eligibility. As someone else said, lucky if he stays 2.

I think this is right for eligibility, but he's going to stay 2 at most, as others have suggested.
