If the shingles are meeting up to a vertical siding gable wall, the siding will have to be cut at the flashing.
The arch shingles are thicker than 3 tabs. If they just jam the arch shingles in they will hold moisture and rot the siding.

Most of asphalt shingles are manufactured in the same process with a lot of them using the same mat. IKO had a bad reputation in the SE before they built a plant in Alabama. I get everyone has their personal preference when they’re in the business but with the shortages of shingles and the demand not slowing down anytime soon I’d easily use IKO if it meant getting my roof fixed instead of having a tapped roof. All brands are hard to come by right now.

Is tamko a good brand shingle?

Since you are here, why won’t roof manufacturers warranty roofs with spray foam? The reasoning I have read seems shakey.

A roofer (not the one doing my roof) told me IKO is better than Tamko. So therefore incorporating this thread would mean Tamko is the worst

Some shingle manufacturers do. I think certanteed does with a foam roof

Eh not quite. Tamko is not bad at all.
I would rank them Certainteed, Tamko, Atlas, OC, everything else (IKO, Malarkey, GAF, etc)
Certainteed is the heaviest by weight per square.
Truth is that they all damn near offer a 50 year or "lifetime" warranty, something that will never be used. At this day in age, you can throw something on and just bank on the next hail storm for a replacement.

Owens Corning and Certainteed both warranty with spray foam. It’s because they are uncertain if the shingles can breathe underneath and the research is shallow for most. I have Certainteed on my roof right now. I think OC is probably the best and Certainteed second.

At this point with shingles on allotment, I put on what I can get... its hard to spec shingles right now.
