Could someone kindly explain that to me?

In an effort to help make the GLeague more useful to teams the league added 2 new limited roster spots with 2 Way contracts. The players on 2 ways will spend most of their time in the GLeague, but they can spend up to 45 days a year with the parent team and be active for NBA games. While they are called up they make more money so a player in the GLeague on a 2 Way can make in the ball park of $200k per year compared to $30k for a regular GLeague salary.
The intention was to make the GLeague more competitive with Euroball and the NCAA and be more useful to the NBA teams, who often operate GLeague teams at a loss.

That can spend more time with the main club this year given the situation.

Right, this year they increased the 45 day limit to 50 days and it only counts game days, not practices.
It looks like they're getting a pay raise too.

If they keep this in place it might become the new standard for 2nd round contracts.

With the standard G League season not happening due to the coronavirus, the two-way contract rules are getting a shake-up. Gone are the 45 days of available NBA service time, which included practice. Now two-way contracts are allowed 50 days of service time, which only includes games. They can practice and travel as much as they want, without it impacting their service time.
And in a good move for the players, they’ll be paid a set amount in the range of $500,000, regardless of time spent at the NBA level.
