To clear up the timeline from the article a bit, Hunter Biden, after leaving the Commerce Department, also worked as a consultant for MBNA Bank from 2001 to 2005.

2005 is coincidentally the year the bankruptcy overhaul bill was passed (with Joe Biden being one of the Democrats to support it).
