QUORUM Question - the difference between U.S. Senate and Texas Statehouse??

I really should know this, and I am embarrassed I don't. I could look it up too, but another busy day at work.
What is the rule difference between the U.S. Senate and the Texas House (or was it the Texas Senate)...
whereby a few years ago, the Texas Democrat Reps/Sens were literally ducking, hiding, and cowardly leaving the state and hiding out in New Mexico and Oklahoma (and maybe Arkansas and Louisiana) and staying away from Austin to avoid a quorum on some redistricting vote or some other issue?
As I recall, Governor Perry sent Texas Rangers to round the cowards up.
Anyway, what's the quick answer on why that worked but why Chuck Schumer's threat today won't work?

I’m not sure exactly, but I would look up what makes a quorum in Texas State House. In the US Senate, a quorum is 51 members and 1 person must ask for a quorum.
ETA: Quorum in Texas State House is 2/3rds of members

Well in all fairness the Republicans in Oregon pulled the same stunt a few months back to fight some crazy arse environmental laws

The US Senate only requires 51 Senators be present for a quorum. So this cannot happen with the current makeup of the US Senate.
But to answer your question. If the Senate Sergant at Arms sent Capitol Police out to bring Senators to the Senate Chamber, state lines wouldn’t stop them from having jurisdiction like it did in the Texas situation.

Quorum is whatever the legislative body being discussed decides it is.
