Any of you subscribe to VinylMePlease? I've been a member since early '17 and have really enjoyed it but am curious what other's thoughts are with the recent price hike. I'm also in the VMP subreddit but that place is a bi-polar mess. I've loved being a member but it's also incredibly difficult for me to commit to a year-long service when I've recently had to make quite a few swaps on their albums of the month. I'd be more inclined if their swap options greatly improved but they're pretty limited as is.

Based on what I've seen It's looking like "Stankonia" "Mama's Gun" and "Billie Holiday" may be the next 3 Essential records for Oct, Nov, and Dec. Still don't know that it'll be enough to get me to bite the bullet on a year-long subscription at $33/album but we'll see - I'd be happy with those three but that's only 1/4 of the subscription. Who knows what the rest of the year could look like.

I’ve never subscribed to them, but I’ve purchased a few of their reissues and the sound quality has been pretty great on the records I’ve picked out. I’d say they’ve been really good at putting out reissues of certain records that DEFINITELY needed to be reissued.

But I wish they were just another reissue label, and not a membership reissue label because I get so annoyed th at I cant outright purchase some album, while I can with others. For example I really want the Spiritualized “ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space” reissue, but I think it’s just for members?

I believe they are offered up to members first and if there is any stock left over, those are open for the general public to purchase... there should be an option to me notified..

Damnit, really? I just ordered a copy off Amazon, assuming it was the same reissue.

I just googled this service since I wasnt aware of it and its something up my alleyway.

Anyway. VinylMe discounts was a suggestion and a few options popped up. Try looking into that OP. $33/month for one record seems ridiculous but prices arw what they are these days.

Just bought Fiona Apple's "When the Pawn..." from them but haven't listened to it, yet. Took a long time to get here.

I've been a member. I'll be cancelling when my subscription ends at the beginning of the year. There is just no value there anymore.

Hell, I can buy a Mobile Fidelity or Analogue Productions release every month, get better quality and the exact title I've been seeking, and still come out better in the wallet. Not sure why they're trying to destroy their business

It's a bummer but I agree. If I do the annual subscription it's only a $5/month increase - which isnt' terrible - but also locks me in for a year whereas I've been doing 3-months at a time. I have till end of October to decide. I still really enjoy the service/product but I haven't been super impressed with some of the selection recently.

I've been a member since 2017 but the new price increase was too much for me to stay. I was on the hip hop as my main track and from time to time I used to add classics and essentials as secondary tracks. The hip hop releases were so bad this year that I swapped every month from January to June. I got some really cool things from especially from classics. At $30 a month every month it was doable but not at the increase. That said their pressings are amazing especially classics.

I stopped buying from them when they stopped letting me buy individual month releases. I have several older ones like De La Soul, Queen, Van Morrison, Fugees, and several more.

Well they're doing a promotion to lock in original pricing for existing members so I may pony up for a year subscription. Hard to beat at $25/record.
