I have been wanting to buy a small inverter generator for short power outages and just have if if I need it. I have a big one I use for storms and long outages but want a small one also. I know the obvious is a Honda and that is what I intend to buy. But my cousin was telling me why spend that much money on something you won't use very often. he said to just buy the Honda harbor freight knock off with the warranty. I looked a few youtube videos comparing the Predator vs Honda and the Predator actually gets pretty good reviews, I was rather surprised because I am skeptical of anything harbor freight. So do any of you have a experience with the predator?

The Champion 2000 water inverter generator from TSC is about the same price as the Predator. Champion warranty is 3 years vs 90 days for the Predator. Champion has parts available online. Good luck getting Predator parts.

Predator is a TD favorite. I wouldn't hesitate to do it. If it shits the bed for some strange reason, guy always have your big one for backup.

I've had the predator for a few years now. Rarely use it, but when I do it starts right up. Lots of youtube videos on maintenance and mods.

That is what I am looking and was why I was going to bite the bullet and buy the Honda. I have literally never met a single person that has told me they have had a problem with theirs. But if I can get a reliable generator cheaper then why not.
Been awhile, how's it going. Still living over there on Yocum Rd?

Think you can buy a replacement warranty with the predator for 30-40 bucks

We run the Honda’s all day everyday at work and they are worth every penny. Having said that, if it’s just something to keep around in the garage that rarely gets used then I wouldn’t be against going with one of the other options and saving some money.
