I cannot think of a single recording or symphony that I have attended that was not riddled with people coughing.

What's behind the coughing at Classical Concerts?

Some dude even wrote a symphony to incorporate crowd noise.

Was just thinking about this the other day as I was listening to music. In between the movements, it sounded like someone set off tear gas or something. There must have been 100 people in the audience coughing. It's like they were holding it in all during the Rondo and could barely wait for the movement to end. At least they waited i guess.

1. Average age above 65
2. Most of the best concerts are in the winter
3. Lots of people need to cough, and those who don't hold it in let it all out between movements.

I've just described a past time
