So how long before Crowton gets offered an HC position?

He's had two head coach D1 positions, NFL experience and been the offensive mastermind of a national championship team.

When do we lose him and who can Miles recruit to take his place?

He hasn't had much success at HC, I think OC is where he belongs

He had a ton of success at LaTECH considering the program. I think if he wanted a HC position, he'd have one. I see him being happy at LSU for a while.

I agree that schools will be a little reluctant to offer when thinking about his track record as HC.

I hope in his mind that he's satisfied with being a lifetime coordinator. I'd love to see him hang around a long time in baton rouge.

He had a little success at La Tech. I think most Athletic Directors feel the same as this statment though, so we won't have to fend off as many suiters as people with "up and coming" offensive minds, a/k/a Major Applewhite, Steve Sarkisian, etc.
IMHO.

He's not getting any younger either.

He is best suited as a college OC. As long as we pay him top dollar and the HC doesn't interfere too much he will be here for a while.

He DID beat Alabama in 1997 and 1999 at La Tech! Something he seems to do on a regular basis.

If we keep winning 10+ games every season and hanging 30 and 40 points on some of the best defenses (SEC) we will lose him in probably 2 more years. Wouldnt be surprised by AK, Ole Miss, or even leaving the SEC to a Miami or PSU. These are just different things to talk about. Sounds crazy, but crazy stuff happens.

imo Petino can't leave for another job (No one will look at him) for another four years. Nutt will be average, but hold on to his job in OM for seven to eight years.

If Crowton leaves, I see the types of teams like Indiana, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, etc. being interested in him.

again, imho.

Crowton won't leave for a 2nd rate team. He will hang around until he gets an offer from an SEC school or some apple job like Jimbo Fisher got where he will soon be the head coach. If LSU wins another title, it will happen sooner rather than later, but I expect he will be on staff for a while so ADs can see how he handle the current LSU QB situation.

i doubt he is that hot of a commodity as a HC, he was ok at tech, and one year he beat bama they were garbage and everyone beat them. He left tech to an OC anyway. He didnt do very well at BYU so that really doesnt help, im sure some small program would want him as a HC but he will probably make more as an OC here and i would hardly think is tops on any BCS teams list of guys they want as a HC

Another year like last year and someone will take a chance on him. The problem is, he makes more as an OC at LSU than he would as HC at UAB or Florida Atlantic or one of those other smaller universities that would take a chance on him.

He will probably look into a lower rung SEC school or ACC school like Cutcliffe.

I didn't know we played against Alaska....which college are you talking about there?!

I love smartasses. I was not going by state abreviations, because I was not talking about him leaving LSU to go to Alaska. I said AK which means Arkansas which if you had ever watched a football game or Arkansas, then you would have probably seen them abreviated in such a way (AK)and (LSU) in the conrner of the screen denoting the score.

It would take a school with great recruiting potential such as Penn St., or Miami to get him to leave LSU.
