Woke up to my computer running sluggish

I’m running an i5-8400 with a 1660 Ti slightly overclocked.
I have windows on my M.2 SSD along with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. First off, the game took forever to boot up. Then when I finally got in the game, I was running 10 FPS instead of my usual 80-100+. I haven’t been home in over a week but it was running fine when I left and suddenly it runs like garbage. I do have other people that hop on but they don’t really play any games outside of games from the early 2000’s. I did some test with OCCT and Crystal Disk Mark and everything appears to be fine.
I knew there was a problem almost immediately. Windows took more than 20 seconds to boot up. I disabled nearly every startup program a long time ago. But it felt like I was running on a HDD again with the boot time and load time for Assassin’s Creed. I have no idea what’s going on. I can usually figure these things out but I’m at a loss here. The only thing I did recently was install a 2TB FireCuda hybrid SATA drive. But I don’t have any files or games on it. So that can’t be the issue here right?
And I moved AC from an external hard drive to my M.2 and now it’s taking forever to load..? That seems arse backwards to me.

Did you check and see if your RAM is still all showing up? Might have lost a stick.

Yep. All my hardware is showing up. I just unplugged everything and went to go take it apart to get the FireCuda out but as I took my screws out I decided I wanted to check the bios first. So I plugged everything back in and fired her up and I couldn’t get to BIOs because it booted too fast. And now everything’s running fine. Computers are weird man.

Do any of the Windows diagnostics show your cpu, ram, or disk being maxed out?

Running Windows 10? Do you have an external powered USB hub?

I have two external harddrives. My WD Black 8 TB has some USB ports in the back that I have a wireless phone charger and a light hooked up to.
But it’s been running fine since then. I took out the FireCuda and slapped a 1 TB SATA SSD in there instead. So I can finally get all of my games of that WD external.

I asked because my machine ran great until I got an external powered USB hub. Some strange driver issue kicked in and if the hub was connected the machine would sometimes not power down, not power up or if it did either it would BSOD with a driver state error. I eventually ended up just having to unplug it when I was shutting down or booting up.
As of the 1909 build though the issue seems to have gone away.
