with the new NCAA transfer rules, I think he would be eligible right away. the same would be the case for Leblanc coming from Georgetown. would be nice to have them suit up to start the season.

I don't think the NCAA has officially adopted the immediate eligibility rule. It's just a proposal that's on the table. Though there are indications the NCAA is strongly considering adopting the proposal for football and basketball (there already is an immediate eligibility rule for the other sports)
So RIGHT NOW O'Neal and Leblanc would likely have to sit out at least the first semester of next season (with O'Neal possibly having to sit the entire season since he transferred after Jan. 1). However, everyone is hopeful the new rule will be adopted and both are ready to go from day one

you're not breaking anything to me. I'm confident the rules will pass, and they'll both play immediately. like Alt said, Leblanc is at least playing come December.

Both LeBlanc and O'Neal had good reasons to get immediately eligible before they even brought up making every transfer eligible.
Worst case LeBlanc still is eligible by SEC play.

exactly why i feel good about it. the new proposal is just a backup plan.
