I had a big ant problem around my okra plants last year. If you’re looking for an organic route, 1 fl oz of this in 2 gallon watering can, poke a deep hole in the mound, then soak em.
I did this and it killed them almost instantly. I also treated my surrounding yard heavily with spectricide granules to prevent more from moving in. I think doing that was the key to success.

Where do you buy that? Would big box or co-op have it?
I've got ants all in my bed that I'm prepping. Need to kill it. Not sure best way.

Diatomaceous earth absolutely works. It isn't expensive and a little goes a long was, will work for many insects, especially aphids and similar soft critters. It's like microscopic shards of silicon, (all diatoms, water creatures you learned about in grade school science). It is all food grade. I have some, and I use it regularly, and I know it works.
The boiling water does work for the ants. The two tricks are #1 a couple gallons for a average mound, poured directly into the center and #2 after you pour the boiling water, cover the mound with something for several minutes to maintain the steam/heat.
