Is the 85 degrees for the winter weed cocktail ground temp or air temp?

I sprayed the winter weed cocktail 2 weeks ago and it did a great job on my jungle of weeds but I’ve got some spots that need touching up.

Any fertilizer recommendations for centipede grass?

Centipede does not respond well to high rates of fertilization like St Aug, and too much can cause centipede decline over time.

Something with the %N around 15 to low 20s. Low or 0 phosphorus (P). examples, Fertilome 15-0-15, LESCO 15-5-15 or LESCO 24-2-11.

You want to apply at 0.5 lb N per 1000 sq ft in April and a second application at the same rate in June. That will equate to applying 3 1/3 lb per 1000 sq ft of a 15-x-x (50 divided by 15) or 2 lbs of 24-x-x (50 divided by 24). The lower N allows you to disperse more lbs of fertilizer over the area allowing better coverage - if that makes sense.

I’ll use 24-2-11 on my centipede front lawn next week - I usually target the first week of April, the centipede has greened up by then, and I’ve cut the grass twice.

I'm the Manager of Solutions and Pest and Lawn in Covington. I sell herbicides and insecticides. Call me if you need anything 985-205-3449. MSM Turf is excellent and so is Celsius. I can get just about anything you may need. You can pick it up or I can ship to your door. Thanks TD! Definitely be careful with your mix rates on the two.
