Going to put in a new hot water heater soon. Should I add an expansion tank?

1. I live in the county and they are not required.

2. I dont currently have one.

3. I understand you need them if you put in (or have) a one way valve on your cold water line because it creates a closed loop system. (I dont currently have one)

So should I add the one way valve and the expansion tank?

Cause it's still not hot enough to wash off the whore smell from your wife.

Sorry for the hijack, but I'm thinking of getting a tankless water heater. Any thoughts?

It’s not hotter until you heat it.

Do it if you can. Endless hot water. Make sure you get the right size for your needs.

Because I don't want my water to completely cool before the heater kicks on.

He said he already had hot water. If he wants hotter water then he wants a hotter water heater.

This is not that difficult.

Right so if the water is hot, and the water heater is heating hot water; then it's a hot water heater.

If the water was already hotter, then it'd be a hotter water heater.

The way you describe it'd be a hotter water maker.

If your water pressure goes above 65 pounds your pop off valve will leak whenever you dont have an expansion tank. In our area the rural water district is updating their system and causing many customers to have leaking pop off valves.

Actually the expansion tank is not for that and doesnt help with that.

That is what a pressure reducing valve is for.

So then instead of a water heater, I have a hot water maker because it takes cold water and makes hot water?

I did not know.
