I have only ever acquired via gift or private party.

What can I expect buying online?

Georgia is the state. Bolt action is the type, nothing fancy or scary looking.

Pretty simple. Find a local FFL, seller ships it there, you pick it up and the FFL does a background check.

Find what FFL has the cheapest transfer fee and ship it to them

ETA: You still have to fill out the 4473 when you get to the dealer in GA

I just bought an AR thru Gunprime. Easiest purchase I’ve done online by far. Won’t hesitate to do it again.

That's all there is to it. They'll give you a call when it arrives and you'll go do the paperwork & background check. Once approved, pay the transfer fee and head home with your new toy

Where are you in Georgia? I ordered a pistol from EuroOptic. Worked through Bullseye Marksman in Cumming. I had the gun in 24 hours.

There is a gun shop in Dahlonega that I've found good prices at if you're interested. Think it is called Dahlonega Gun and Pawn. Check out their website. I bought a Magpul 700 in 6.5. Had 2 buddies buy there too. Was not able to beat their price, but we might have just been lucky they carried what we wanted. Note, guns are new, not used

FYI, gunbroker has an FFL index that you can use to find FFLs near you. They also generally include the price they charge.
