Not sure why all the image links died... Final progress pics and before and after in my latest reponse
Here is the back part of my yard. Sick of the eyesore that is my neighbor's shed, but it provides a good amount of shade, so I'm gonna fix it up and build a patio.
Got started on the patio, dug up some dirt
And a lot more dirt (if anyone in wants some dirt rjl2td@gmail.com)
Got the gravel put in. All that's left is to tamp, put down sand and arse the pavers, then paint up the shed!

So you are going to paint a mural on this thing or what?

I haven't decided, but anything is better than rust and gray

Paint a mural of Harambe in heaven on that eye sore of a building...

Can you legally paint someone else's shed like that?

He said I could. I asked if I could buy it from him and he said no though

Good looking dog there. Is he a good boy?
Legit idea. I'd do it just to troll the neighbors.

Good to know he gave you permission to paint it. That could get tricky had you done that without asking first. Why didn't he want to sell it to you?

Not sure. He's not the most eloquent fellow, he said "ain't for sale" then walked back in his house

Sounds like a gem.
The in-laws wanted to donate the back end of their property to us 5 years ago to build a house on but the only access to the road was from their driveway. Thinking ahead, I was afraid of my wife's siblings wanting to sell their parents' house after they die and then I'd be stuck sharing a driveway with strangers. So we started looking at surrounding properties to buy in order to have access to a roadway.
We reached out to a neighboring owner and offered him $25,000 for a large chunk of his property but he angrily declined. He was an absolute a-hole to deal with.
One year later he received 2' of water in his house and he didn't have flood insurance. Guarantee he wished he had an extra $25,000 cash lying around then.

Got the pavers down finally after a SNAFU with the delivery.
All that's left to do is cut pavers around the tree, put in the paver edging, put poly sand over the top, and paint the eyesore.
Pretty damn proud of myself for doing all this by hand.

Coming along nicely. I think I'd rather lay pavers than paint that shed :)

I hope that is not a Sago Palm. I am not great at plant id's but you should note they are highly toxic to dogs.
There was a poster here a few years ago that lost a dog to a Sago.

It's not a Sago Palm. I don't know the exact type, but it's one that will grow tall. Sago palm leaves are spikier like this:

Final before an after. Got the shed painted, fake window up
First coat of paint. Scrubbed all the rust down with a wire brush
Fake window. Made it out of 1x with some half lap joints then sanded an thin acrylic sheet to achieve the frosted look (to cover the shed window without taking his natural light)
Painted my steps with matching colors. need to touch up the white still.
Damn glad to be done
Bonus pic of my side kick chilling under the tailgate tent while I cooked under the sun
