I have a meeting setup for the lakers tomorrow at 9. I think they’re offering me the max, only condition is that I take all the blame if we end up sucking.

Well they have Frank Vogel coaching them to victory.

Vogel is actually a pretty good coach... well better than Alvin Gentry at least.

I really don’t think Gentry is as bad of a coach as people make him out to be. Lots of square pieces to try to fit into round holes with Demps as GM, at least Griffin is giving Gentry an opportunity to work with guys that fit his system. Meanwhile Rob Pelinka isn’t even being invited to meetings with Kawhi... lmao.

Should bring back memories of February when he got cut out of the AD trade talks.
I guess a career of being an a-hole before he became a GM continues to haunt him.

It’s going to be tough for them if Kawhi drags this out.
Teams will certainly court players like Danny Green, Seth Curry, Morris, Boogie, etc. while they sit on their hands waiting for Kawhi. They can’t really say frick Kawhi either. He pretty much guarantees them a championship. Would be way bigger than KD to the Warriors. Honestly might be the biggest FA signing in NBA history other than LeBron to Miami.
I wouldn’t put it past him to sign there but it just didn’t seem like his MO. He seemed more like a lone wolf rather than a team up kind of guy. He’s got his Finals MVPs and rings. He’s not gonna win an MVP with LeBron and AD taking away the spotlight. Besides championships I don’t know what he gets out of signing with them unless he wants to live in LA that badly
