So now you can buy that new Elite Controller 2 and know it won't be outdated by next year.

Yeah but that elite 3 will be out soooooooo

But is scarlet a new generation or just another Xbox one X? Or is that the future of console gaming?

No new gens but updated systems compatible with old ones

if it's compatible with xboxone stuff, its not a new generation IMO

Why?

The PS2 could play PS1 games. The PS3 could play PS2 games. The Xbox One can play many Xbox 360 games.

Backwards compatibility is a feature I'm a huge fan of, especially if it helps reduce the number of "HD Remakes" we get next gen.

It’s competing with PS5 and they’re brand new systems, so it’s next gen. Just because certain accessories are backwards compatible doesn’t mean it isn’t a new generation

I think this is a really good question. The questions to ask that I think you figure it out is...

Will Scarlett and Xbox One run different operating systems?

When playing a xbox one game will the scarlett run it natively or will it emulate an xbone system?

Will accessories build for Scarlett also work for Xbone?

Will lesser power indie games that don't need the full power of Scarlett be playable on Xbone?

With those answers, I think we would have a better understanding.
