Mr. Tezuka has confirmed that the ability to play online multiplayer with friends is coming to #SuperMarioMaker2 in a future update. Stay tuned for more information to come.

Insane that it wouldn't be a launch feature for this game and they actually had to course correct, but at least they'll eventually fix it.

Biggest oversight, in light of another announcement made this week: no online co-OP with MM2, or no NPC's in Fallout 76?

76 has a slew of other problems, but most of them I can chalk up to them not having a clue how to handle an online survival game like this. No human NPC's took me completely out of the Fallout universe and I wasn't sure what I was playing.

I feel like being surprised that Nintendo screwed up anything related to online connectivity means you haven't been paying attention to Nintendo at all.

But it's shocking how slow they are on the uptake. How many different chances do you need to figure out basic online functionality.

Because the first game was a success without online multiplayer...? It's not so hard to believe. Plus the majority of the community stages that get played are often so blindingly crazy and/or complicated that multiplayer would probably be a bad experience.

I do wonder if they are going to somehow limit stages to keep a consistent experience.

But again, Nintendo leaves something out and it's the worst thing in the world, Bethesda leaves something obvious out and "Meh." Different standards.
