Let’s go easy on the expectations; they haven’t been very kind to us lately when they are high.

Thanks.

Nope...missed it, hiding in front of that exclamation point. I’ve been up for 20 hours.

What stood out to me, during the spring game, was the realization that we have the perfect running back for the offense were running this season. Clyde the glide will have 6 or 700 yards receiving this season. He will have at least that rushing as well.

What would be awesome is, if at least one , of our 2 incoming freshman running backs ,are as good as Clyde catching the ball, but also has the top end Speed to score on long runs, like fournette did...

So that poses a question. is Jon Emory, or the other guy ,faster then Clyde? Are either one of the freshmen known to be good receivers ,and can they bust the long run? That would be huge for us.

The main thing we need to work on this summer ,and get better at, is red zone offense. That's the thing that hurt us alot last year. Especially if our kicking game isn't as good as it was last year, which is likely.my opinion has nothing to do with our new guy , Cade York. Cole Tracey is gonna be hard to beat though.

That video had me realizing how good our personel matches what our offense will be trying to do.thats just based on what we know so far though.

The underneath route combinations have me excited. I want to see a lot of mesh concepts. We have some very explosive guys that can make underneath throws and catches go the distance

Davis was used more in the passing game in HS and is considered pretty good. The drawback may be that he is more of a 1 cut runner so he may not be as good in space. At 6'1 230 he needs to square his shoulders and go N-S. Emery was not used as much, but possesses the skills to be much better in space. He also has good vision. He should be a 3 down back and flourish as a receiver. Both possess homerun speed so if they get a crease they can score.

As for red zone, last season we lacked a good between the tackles run game. Neither Brossette or CEH were able to grind out yards. We now have 3 players who can with Davis, Emery and Curry. Returning all of our starters (Hines was better than Brumfield) should help as well. There needs to be better playcalling as well, but we have a better starting lineup to work with.

Pass play from Burrow to JJ for a TD was a thing of beauty.

Exactly. Check out the first play: pass to the RB in the flat puts him in space, requires the DB to make an open-field tackle.

If he does, that's still 4-5 yards (i.e., yardage of a good run); if not, nice YAC on top of that as well...all on a pretty safe pitch and catch play.
