With no license fees, and no BS to have to load on the end hosts, and no registration or other garbage.

Remove from box.
Plug in.
IP.
Run host connections.
Walk away.
Access host from 5000 miles away.

Thanks in advance.

Lantronix Spider KVM for a single device would work.

Do the Tripplite ones require licenses or software?

Search for KVM over IP.

I've never used these before, but Raritan makes 1, 8, 16, 32 and 64 port versions.

Server or desktops? We order all our servers with iDRAC enterprise license cards. No kvm needed and full hardware control too.

IDRAC is for OOB management/access.

When idrac not working, either I pay 200 Euros an hour for someone to roll a crash cart to a server, and talk back and forth through a language barrier, sending me pics, etc etc etc, or I have a KVM and fix my own problem in 3 minutes.

All the servers are already on oob ilo/idrac/etc but need KVM.

Not trying to be an arse, but wouldn't you have to do the same for the KVM too? Why not just keep the server under warranty and let the vendor swap out the OOBM card if it goes out?

I can say, and we may just be lucky, over the past 10 years we have never had an iDRAC failure. We are all Dell so I can not comment on the other vendors OOBM offerings or reliability.

I did find these.

LINK

Looks like they have a single server version too.
They did show one on Amazon when I googled for pricing at seven hundred something.

I Have no experience with them.

I have McAfee appliances laid out in colo pods all over the world and there are constant problems. The servers are a proprietary McAfee solution that have their own version of idrac, I think they call it ipmi. Either way, whenever the ISRM admins and McAfee contractors can't access their stupid shite, I have to open tickets and liason all kinds of bullshite I don't have time for, if I just had a KVM in each site. But you are right, no problems with ilo or idrac, specifically. I just really didn't want to get into that level of detail.

I'll try to find out more about the Raritan.
