First, I strongly think Wade should stay and the LSU Administration did not stand behind him and support him like they should have, as seems the view of the majority of posters on this board.

But if Coach Wade leaves, I am impressed with Nate Oates of Buffalo, a 30 win team. He won both the conference title and tournament championship.

Thanks for the list, magic man.

Which young coach trying to build a resume and career, would risk it working for Alleva.

I'm afraid you have a valid point. I have no answer for you.

Thank you. I looked at all of them when I made my list, but I wasn't as impressed with them as I was with the guys on my list. I bet I looked through 50 coaches/asst coaches.. lol

I wouldn't have a problem with any on my list, including Oats. IF I were to make a personal choice from my list, it would be Steve Forbes.

He coached under Marshall with Haier. Coached under Bruce Pearl. He's had a stop in La. He's made a dramatic difference whenever he's been given the HC spot:

1995–98 Barton County Community College 68–28 .708%

2011–12 Northwest Florida State 32–2 11–1 1st NJCAA DI National Runner-Up
2012–13 Northwest Florida State 30–4 11–1 1st
NJCAA DI National Runner-Up

2015-19 East Tenn State 100-39 .719%
Vegas 16 Semi finals
NCAA First Round
CIT First Round

Avery Johnson

F U to bama. Louisiana guy who can recruit

Have him hire some great assistants who actually coach the team

LSU will be damaged goods if Alleva is leading the search

If this is anything like the 2016 football search, this is whats going on upstairs:

Hmmm, the team is winning. We don't want a total rebuild...How many games does this Tony Benford guy have to win to be named the head coach... If he makes a final 4? sweet 16? wins a tournament game? that hasn't been done in quite a while, Maybe he's the answer. Maybe we'll try Coach K and Calipari first, and then he can be our fall back plan. Players love him. He loves LSU. Probably his dream job. Would save us the hassle of a legit coaching search...wonder what his binder looks like...

I think Avery is already on the hot seat, so we'd be doing them a favor. Also opening the door for them to hire Will Wade. Worst idea ever. And I like Avery Johnson.
