Buddy of mine is wanting to go play these two courses in mid March. The deal he’s found is for around 400 with a room and greens fees for 54 holes split between the two courses.

Are these courses worth it at that price point or should we look in to some of the RTJ courses in AL? I appreciate any insight or other suggestions y’all can provide.

For your troubles...

Three rounds of golf on high end courses and a hotel room for $400 seems like a hell of a deal

Did that trip last summer. It is a good trip but not great. The Accommodations at Old Waverly Are OK but dated. Request staying at Mossyoak as the accommodations are right on the course and you can probably do some night putting. The clubhouse Grill and Waverly is OK we went into town one night for the other dinner. I think the Trent Jones Trail is a better value and better courses

That’s exactly what I’m thinking.

Thanks for the info. I’ll see which property he’s wanting to book and make the suggestion.

Considering that the only course I get to play with any regularity is Covington, I think anything different will be fun.

You can parlay your Marriott reward points on the trail - pretty sweet deal.

We have reserved exactly the same thing in late April, but for $600. Includes the forecaddie fee (for all rounds, I think.). Played Mossy Oak last summer, was very nice. Haven't played Old Waverly in ten years, but was nice back then.

Looks like a good deal to me, OW is always good, haven’t played MO yet.

Looks like we’re doing OW and MO on day one and Dancing Rabbit the following day. Should be a good time, especially for the $$.

Can’t go wrong with RTJ or OW however I must say Dancing Rabbit sux and the Indians that run it are the most rude people I have ever met and will never go back !

Was the problem with the course, the service... both? Give me some context here.

Go eat at Anthony’s for dinner. Waverly’s dinner isn’t all that great. Lunch and breakfast buffet downstairs are good. Mossy oaks clubhouse isn’t finished so they don’t have food.

Courses are top notch and fun to play. Greens are always rolling good
