I have used a nice thermal monocular in the past (FLIR Ls-xr).

Eyeing different night capable scopes and would like to go thermal, but am open to NV scopes too.

So what do you use and how do you like it?

What will you be using it for?

Hogs. So 150 yard shots (unlikely but I'd like the ability to make one) and in.

I have a PVS 14 and love it. I have a flir monocular for spotting. The PVS 14 can’t be beat if you have a helmet setup for hog hunting.

I have a FLIR PTS 233 on the way to put on my 6.8SPC. Getting good reviews.

My advice is stay away from the cheap stuff.

I wonder if you can hunt on a WMA with a thermal, in the daytime (legal shooting hrs)

Thermal. NV is cool, but limits on lighting conditions. I've been near gulleys/canals and not be able to see in them at a certain angle with NV. Thermal has background heat issues, but if in the woods - there shouldn't be too much of that.

Thermal to scan.

Nightvision to shoot.
