His career with the USMNT was an interesting one. Bob was ready to basically David Regis him into the 2010 World Cup squad before he got injured, made his debut shortly after, was hit or miss for us for the first couple of years, but then something clicked for him in the 2014 cycle and he became a damn strong player and leader for the team. I'm going to fricking miss that dude. For all the talk and rumors about dual-nationals not really caring about wearing the crest, that doesn't apply to JJ.

Also, he's responsible for this beauty.

Services motherfricking thanked. JJ brought a lot of hard nosed play and swagger that helped clear up those “does he really love tUSMNT?” questions real quick and he seemed to become a big leader in the locker room.

That goal vs Portugal will forever be one of the most exciting sports moments I’ve ever watched live.
