This may have been mentioned but the search feature isn't working...

Have we ever had so many of the same numbers being used on both sides of the ball (at least getting significant playing time)? Just seemed strange to me. Maybe I've never paid attention in the past

Examples:
1 Off = Jamarr Chase
1 Def = K. Joseph

4 Off = Brossette
4 Def = Chaisson

6 Off = Marshall
6 Def = Phillips

9 Off = Burrow
9 Def = Delpit

11 Off = Anderson
11 Def = Alexander

22 Off = CEH
22 Def = Fulton

Yes. There are about 125 players on the team. 85 on Scholarship. Many units have a range of numbers they wear. So, there is ALWAYS duplicates.

They cannot be on the field at the same time. So, it is common for one Offense and one Defense.

We have never had this many.

Kids want the single digits and promises get made in recruiting. Yeah, it's stupid.

Eliminates having two guys on the field at the same time, which is a problem if both your 1's or 6's are prime candidates for the kickoff team.

No shite it happens on every team. I'm just saying it was interesting how many there are this year that take the majority of snaps. I can only imagine if Hawthorne were still on the call. Clyde Edwards-Helaire would have a ton of PBU's.

We should start letting players wear triple digit numbers

I think It’s unusual for that many to be actively playing at the same time.

I personally Love when it’s 1 very high profile player and a backup so every once and a while you look up and ask yourself if the QB just leveled someone on Special teams.

I used To see Furguson on the sidelines and I always thought for a split second “did Jordan jefferson get super fat”

I remember when both Ryan Perriloux and Kelvin Sheppard both wore 11 years ago. Every time Sheppard walked on the field the lady who sat behind me yelled "Perriloux is in the game!"

The new rule is they can't play the same side of the ball in the same game. It used to be just for the same play. So technically if CEH takes the field first then Kristian Fulton is ineligible to play offense for the rest of the game. That's why all of our punters stopped being #38. I'm sure it's to lessen any confusion by a team playing different guys at the same position with the same number in an effort to quickly disguise which personnel they're using.
