I mentioned in the thread title I recently read some David Baladacci "The Fallen" his newest book and "Memory Man", the first in the Amos Decker series.

I liked both pretty well, particularly "The Fallen". Trying to decide on "The Last Mile" or something else.

I like crime/mystery/thriller type novels but prefer them in a rural or country setting. Not big into gov conspiracy type stuff.

Any recommendations? Feel free to link a thread if this has been discussed before.

C.J. Box writes mysteries featuring Joe Pickett, Wyoming game warden.

Paul Dioron writes mysteries featuring Mitch Bowditch, Maine game warden.

Both are pretty good.

I used to read Baldacci but he was always a hit or miss. He soon got into so many different "series" that I just gave up.

I thought the memory man series was ok, but never been a big baldacci fan.

If you’re into crime/mystery check out the tread on this board, first page, about favorite detective. Tons of recs in there.

Any and all detectives mentioned in that thread would be a good place to start.

I love Justified so I did try reading Pronto but I just couldn’t get into it. I’m gonna give it another try or another book. I have The Moonshine War but haven’t started it yet.

In all fairness to Pronto, I only do audiobooks, I don’t actually read. So the narrator plays a big role sometimes in how well I like a book.

The Terminal List Jack Carr’s debut.
These guys all write political thrillers.
