So by percentages. We are looking looking at what 15% of 5 star approximately. 28 out of what another thousand. For 2.8% of 4 on down.

Man that’s incredible!!!! Considering how few 5 stars there are out of each recruiting class, the fact that that many turned out the be first found talents is outstanding

Point noted; go after 5 star recruits

There were 7, not 4. Approximately .01% of the 2018 entering college class consists of 5 stars. While it can vary from year to year, that is a good estimation of a class, I would suspect. Approximately 21.9% of the first rounders were 5 stars.

If we use this years entering class as an approximation for percentages in any class here are the numbers by high school rankings comparing percentage of incoming players to the percentage of 1st round draftees.

No Stars 98.77% of class 6.25% of first rounders
2 Stars 0.61% of class 3.13% of first rounders
3 Stars 0.47% of class 40.63% of first rounders
4 Stars 0.13% of class 28.13% of first rounders
5 Stars 0.01% of class 21.88% of first rounders

It sure looks like your odds of getting a good player go up significantly with each star rating increase.

How dare you talk bad about the almighty star rankings! They are very important.

You can bash it all you want but the math doesn’t lie a much higher percentage of 5* players make the NFL than other star ranking. Only simpletons that don’t understand basic statistics think it’s invalid since 100% don’t pan out. Most of these first rounders won’t pan out either but that doesn’t make the draft invalid

By percentages, it will always look better, but it's not that hard to hit on 15%. Wouldn't surprise me if more than 15% of 5 stars went undrafted.

It’s probably more than half, but it’s more like 90+% of 3* that don’t pan out
