Considering a vacation to Mexico City this summer

Any suggestions of things to do?

I lived there a while back, so I can't speak to how it is now. When I was there it was a blast. There is a ton of things to do, it just depends on how good your Spanish is and how long you will be there.
If you are into history Teotihuacán was a great trip. You can find several tour groups that can take you out there. They have tour buses that travel around the major points and you can hop on and off as you please.
Polanco and La Condesa are two great areas to hang out in.
Again, it is dependent on how long you will be there as to what you can do.

Mexico City is a lot of fun. I've been several times.
I agree about Polanco and Condessa being some of the spots to visit.
Polanco is the upscale neighborhood with beautiful tree lined streets and parks, shopping and a lot of good restaurants. Condessa is full of expats and artists. A lot of bars, restaurants, and cafes. Zona Rosa is another cool neighborhood, it's full of bars and nightclubs. It's something to see once the sun goes down.
I would recommend checking out Tenochtitlan and Zocalo. But you should checkout Xochimlio, you can rent a boat with a guide and cruise the canals and see the floating gardens. Most people do byob and make a thing if it.
The national art palace, near Zocalo, is one of the best museums I've visited.
Getting around the city is pretty easy, traffic is nuts though. Ubers across town are only $10usd. You can get your hotel to arrange a driver all day for you for less than $100usd. The subway and bus system is pretty extensive as well. But private transportation is so affordable I'd just stick to that.

One of the best cities I’ve ever visited. Amazing food, architecture, art, culture, history, and people.
Chapultepec Castle is a must. Zocalo, Teotihuacan, partying in Condessa and Roma. Frida Kahlo house and spend a chill day in coyoacan. Wander around and eats lots of amazing street food. Go to some markets

I just went in February for 4 days. I loved it. But there are parts of town that you are better off staying away from, so just make sure you do your due diligence. Also, be cautious about what you eat. We got a little too adventurous and paid dearly for it.

Pretty much what RedFoxx said. Wife and I went last April, I extended my trip by two days because I enjoyed it so much.

We also did a night at Arena Mexico for Lucha Libre wrestling. I'm a wrestling fan but my wife is not, but she loved it. Was one of the funniest and most entertaining 3 hours I have done. We got 2nd row ringside for I think $10 USD. Worth it.
I second the just hiring a driver at your hotel for the day. We paid our $60 USD and he drove us out to the pyramids and then other sites in the city and then went to dinner with us. Great guy. We did uber a good bit too and the hop on/hop off bus for one day.
