There were sometimes some hot chicks on it.
Also it aired the unsold Happy Days pilot in 1972, two years before the show finally sold (after American Grafitti became a hit)

Was considered "risque" when it first aired and was slotted for the 10pm EST slot on Friday nights.
By the 1971 Fall season, it was capping an impressive block of Friday night programming (The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Room 222, The Odd Couple, Love American Style).
It gave work to journeyman actors like Stuart Margolin (Rockford Files) and James Hampton (The Longest Yard/Teen Wolf). It was also a place for aging movie stars and sitcom child actors to put in a few extra TV appearances (predating the Love Boat).
It was "the place where failed TV pilots go to die" (- Garry Marshall). Happy Days and Wait Till Your Father Gets Home both aired their pilot episodes on Love American Style.
The Cowsills' version of the theme song was replaced after the first season by stock singers.
"Risque" as it was deemed, it was put out in syndicated form in the mid 70's and ran in daytime and in the afternoon after-school time slot in a lot of markets. It ran as an hour show in some seasons on ABC, but all episodes were cut down to a half hour for syndication.

What’s the over/under for posters who’ve actually seen episodes before syndication? I’m going with 15 and I’ll take the under. I’m one of those who have.

WBRZ was the NBC affiliate in BR, sharing some ABC programming with WAFB (CBS). Once WRBT (now WVLA) started up in '71, they became the ABC affiliate for Baton Rouge. WBRZ and WBRT switched networks in 1977 for the new Fall season.
Not sure if WAFB or WBRZ aired Love American Style prior to 1971.
