I have a 2012 2500HD (no truck nuts, sorry) and I recently replaced my 2" hitch that I used the adapter with so it'll fit in the 2.5" hole, with a full 2.5" hitch. Nothing huge, just a basic 3" drop Reese hitch. Now every time I back up the sensors in the bumper pick it up and beep constantly. It's annoying and renders the backup sensors useless. Anyone else have this issue? Any way to adjust the sensors? Seems ridiculous that you can't run a 2.5" hitch in a truck that came from the factory with a 2.5" receiver. Also, the bumper is straight as an arrow, so it's not caused by an out of whack bumper.

I have a 2010 1500 Sierra. My trailer hitch stays in the receiver and my backup sensors work fine. I didn't have to adjust anything.

If there are 4 sensors you can try unplugging the middle 2. Then again, the system may not operate with just 2. Still worth a try.

on my silverado i think the first day i had it in it acted up but after that first day it recognized it i guess. I NEVER take it out so that may have something to do with it

If you can you should try shim the middle sensors so they aim outward a little. If the difference is a 2.5 inch vs 2.0 inch receiver it shouldn't take too much movement.
