Went for 2 weeks this time, and could have easily stayed for more. We found ourselves doing less adventurous things things time (dune buggies, zip lines) which made the time go by much slower...it was perfect. Here are some pics:

::::::: SLEEP :::::::

We always stay at Grand Solmar Land's End, it is the southernmost resort in Cabo and you can walk over to Lover's Beach when the tide is low. It is a VERY chill place and has now completed their last additions to the resort which they began over 5 years ago (from the ground up).

Checkin lobby

This area used to be their "VIP" check-in but they have since converted it to their sushi bar. The food was pretty good although the menu is not super extensive so don't expect the same quality of sushi as Matsuhisa in Aspen, CO. Their ceviche is fricking outstanding and is about as fresh as it comes...daily out of Pacific.

Here are some pics or our room, it was a 3 bedroom 3 bath just across from the sushi bar area. Perfect location overlooking the 2 main pools.

Other than our patio, this was our favorite perch for morning coffee. The wind was always blowing gently through here.

Pics of Pools and Main Ground of the resort...

They have a breakfast shop that offers everything from STONG arse coffee to Lox salmon bagels and big donuts.

Onsite grocery store has everything you could need and then some. And it's really not that much more than buying things in town.

Onsite Sports Bar which stayed busy from 7pm on....this was right before they closed.

Open grill for their menu or if you bring fish from your charter they will cook it for you.

Most of these tables have gas-fed fire in crushed glass and at night are 100% full of people and live music.

Through these windows is the gym, right below the "fire pit tables".

They have these "flash mob" style entertainment that disappear just as quickly as they arrive. Great entertainment that doesn't loiter after they are done asking for tips.

The resort faces the pacific, and they strongly discourage swimming in the water as you can see here. In fact, you may have read about a couple last year that was swept into the water while walking on the beach and the wife drowned...ya, that was right here.

If you are up to climbing, there is a large hill (what I call a mountain) directly behind the resort that offers a steep and direct ascent. My 11 year old son and I did it the last day....took about an hour to get up and 90 minutes to get down. Here are some pics:

Here are some different things the hotel haps, maps, etc. Their kids club is awesome, we used it last year when our younger son was 7 and he loved it, asked to go back the next day.

::::: TRANSPORTATION :::::

We called Tony Baja tours for our airport/resort transfers. We paid $150 total and we were picked up in a private and hew Tahoe, they even stopped by Wal-Mart for 45 minutes for us. When you arrive at the airport, WALK STRAIGHT OUTSIDE or else you will be hounded by timeshare sharks.

...and the best part about Wal-Mart is that we had Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez help with our groceries. My kids went nuts when he came up and we have some awesome pics with him, the kid looked just like him. Here is one without my kiddos.

::::::: EATS :::::::

We didn't venture out as much as we usually do since it was just us the kiddos this time, we baked in the sun all day we were all usually asleep by 9:00pm.

The Office - solid place for breakfast that we hit up a few times. They have a water taxi to the Arc and Lovers Beach for $5 if you show your food receipt to the boat captain. TIP - don't sit in the tables near the beach unless you want to get haggled by vendors for fake Oakleys, silver jewelry, and straw sombreros.

Lover's Beach

Seal Rock by the arches

The famous arch (AKA "Los Cabos") - can you see the Dragon drinking from the sea? I thought that was pretty cool.

La Esquina - modern Mexican food that's part of the Hacienda Hotel (I think). Food was awesome and the service was great. We ordered the seafood soup, lobster tails, and the filet.

La Palapa - regular spot that had average food...so average that I forgot to take pics.

Tacos 101 - pretty tasty and fast. We had 10 tacos for $12 and all the fixings we wanted. Would go back to this place despite Tacos Guss being our favorite....which is just a stone's throw from this place.

Other pics of bars during the day vs at night. We went out 1 night and just couldn't hang...so sad.

Looks great. My son and I are going to Cabo for 10 days in October for the Tequila and Mariachi Festival.

It does look pricey compared to Isla Mujeres. Beers look about twice as expensive.

Cabo is indeed more expensive than IM, it is growing to accommodate increased tourism from Californians so the economics speak for themselves.

We love Cabo for 100 reasons and IM for a different 100. Both are awesome in their own right.

It wasn't a knock on Cabo. The menus help with the trip budget. I like to have some idea of what I'll be spending on food and drink going in.

Cabo offers cheap street food up to very expensive upscale dining. It's almost overwhelming to look at all your choices.

Have fun and maybe you can post pics when you get back.

I remember seeing that resort a couple of fishing trips ago down there. We went west out to the San Jaime Bank that trip.

We went November 2015 and stayed next door at Terrasol. We loved it. Favorite meal was Gordo Leles.
We're going to Isla in Feb so I'm eager to see the comparison.

VAbuckeye and I have each posted Isla reviews that are in the sticky, have you had the chance to look through them?

Can anyone give me their recommendations on an all inclusive adult only resort in Cabo?
Looking at Bonito Pacifica golf resort as a 2nd honeymoon in December. Is this a good choice or do you have other resorts that you would recommend?

We just got back from Cabo and I found this thread extremely useful, but figured I may update a few things.

I didn’t have a bad meal the whole week, Tacos Guss, Baja Cantina, Los Tres Gallos were great and Flora Farms may be my new favorite restaurant in the world.

We stayed at Cabo Del Sol which is about 15 minutes from downtown Cabo. The first night we took a six-person cab which cost us $35. After that we decided to Uber everywhere. It is crazy the price difference. A 30 minute trip to Flora Farms was $35 where a cab would have been $130. Just keep in mind that all of the cars are incredibly small so we ended up having to take two everywhere we went.

Apparently the resorts in that area are discouraging residents and guests from using ride-sharing services. And we did have a few issues with drivers being harassed.

Another cool thing that I recommend is renting a car and driving to Punta Lobos just south of Totos Santos. You can hike up one of the hills by the beach and get some crazy cool views. We also went to the East cape and checked out a few of the beaches and Buzzard’s bar.

Great trip. Will definitely be back.
