You start at a Fortune 500 company you’re probably making at least 50K right out of school, probably six figures for the “best and brightest.” If you want to be a coach, you start out as a GA for 3 or 4 years making less than minimum wage. None of these guys get head coaching jobs without spending years climbing the ladder.

Around 1987 when a pirate law school graduate got a gig coaching OL at Cal Poly.
