Bears have a runner stretch the ball to get to the pylon. Refs rule he was out of bounds inside the 5. Fox challenges it thinking it was a TD.

Replay comes back and says he fumbled it out of the back of the endzone and gives the Packers the ball at the 20

Did the Bears get their timeout back?

It's hilarious for non-Bears fans But they got screwed. The angle that showed the fumble also showed almost his whole leg laying on the ground out of bounds while he was still touching the ball, before it touched the pylon. Should have stayed their ball at the 1.

That’s actually a good question. I was watching on redzone so I’m not sure if they did.

Dumb question...can the refs make a completely new call on a replay? I thought they could only confirm the call, reverse it, or say that it stands.

I don't think this is accurate

I assume this counts as a reversal.

I mean they have to call whatever happened. If they ruled he stepped out of bounds when he really didn’t then you can’t just ignore everything else that happened after they thought he stepped out.
