I built a cover for a patio not too long ago, a full cover using a metal roofing system but there are similar systems using polycarbonate. Probably have to call around the local roofing/residential construction contractors to see if they know.

I'm certain there are opaque patio covers. You just might have to pay a little more to get it delivered if it's not something they routinely keep on hand.
I'd call some local companies and see what they have to say. I saw some opaque tin roof style sheets at Home Depot not long ago, but have my doubts that would hold up under heavy winds.
