Just find a VRBO in east nashville. We went last fall and loved it!

Depends on what you are looking for. Party time, family, budget friendly, etc.
If is just you and a lady friend, I would suggest the Thompson in the Gulch or Noelle downtown.
If you have a group, VRBO in 12 South or East Nashville would be the way to go.
Gaylord is really only good for conferences and conventions that are held at the hotel.
Other good hotels downtown, Omni and Westin are new and Sheraton was completely renovated last year.

Cool Springs and Brentwood area is great and they're cheaper than downtown. I grew up in that area so I'm biased.

What are you going for/what area will you be spending most of your time.
Last time we were there, we stayed at the Hampton at the corner of 4th Avenue South and Korean Veterans Blvd. Omni is across the street and a Hyatt is a block over on 3rd.
We were 2 blocks off Broadway, could walk to CMHoFM, Cash Museum, Bridgestone, and Ryman in probably 5-10 minutes. Would also be a walkable stay from Nissan Stadium and the Sounds new ballpark.

Downtown call Joyride- golf cart uber. They work for tips and very easy way to get around.

Just me and the wife. Explore the city , do at least one outdoorsy activity, eat well and take in some music. That's usually our mo.
Something is going on that weekend, was barely able to find anything. Ended up 2 nights at Sheraton downtown and last night at the airport. Everything good was booked for Saturday

Never been to Nashville, looking to take the wife somewhere for a long weekend. Would this place be good?

If you can't find something to enjoy in Nashville or the Nashville area (food, music, sports, arts, history) you are doing it wrong.

Thanks for the info. We love listening to live music, so this might be a great place.

The Gaylord as somebody mentioned, or if you want to be in the middle of things the Omni is a great spot you can walk everywhere

FYI, Christmas there is packed, due to lots of events. Lots of families. If you leave the hotel by car it takes hours to get back To the hotel on the weekends. I have seen it take over 1 hour for the valet to bring your car because the hotel is so large and busy on Sunday mornings. There is a large outlet mall next to the hotel you can walk to and the hotel is quite an experience with its atriums
