I have a word document with many hyperlinks to other documents (pdf, PPT, and Video Files) in the same folder as the Word document and they all work fine on my computer. I need to get the doc with all of the linked files to others. I've tried using absolute and relative hyperlinks , but they all fail on a second computer.

(I am uploading the entire folder with the main document and all of the linked documents to dropbox, then downloading it to another laptop to check)

I have until noon to get this right, so any guidance is appreciated.

Is there another way to embed the files that would make them portable?

Are the linked files on your pc? Put them on a network drive and link to them there. Or you can map and share your drive, which can be a pain. You can also embed the files in the word document as well.

If the files retain their positions relative to one anther, then relative links should work on another computer.

I'm not a Word pro, but it shouldn't be too involved to just right click the link and see exactly where it points to on the second computer, then troubleshoot from there.

I tried every method I could find online to get tis done and failed miserably. I did find a solution that works for this particular need. I uploaded all of my files to dropbox and hyperlinked to them there. It's working fine as long as the user is online, which most will be.

Thanks guys
