Considering moving to area - have two youngins. What are the best neighborhoods?

Gulf Breeze is where I have a few friends. They love the school system.

I live in Navarre and have worked in both neighboring counties....plenty of friends that live in pensacola, gulf breeze, tiger point. Depends on what you want. Growing up in new orleans, I'm relieved that I don't have to pay to put my kids through grade school and high school.
Just about anywhere you choose around here will leave you 15-30 from the city/shopping stuff...
i prefer my space and peace and quiet

I grew up in Pace and turned out pretty well.
Easier to name high school districts to avoid: Escambia, Pensacola (unless you're doing the IB), and Milton.

Thanks for thoughts guys - looking prior to posting we were honing in on Gulf Breeze or Pace (we always flip flop on ocean lifestyle vs a little rural).
With Gulf Breeze, the schools seem great but are they ultra competitive? Where we are now, our schools is state champs is so much and it is so competitive, I am worried my girls wont have opportunities to participate (and they inherited my averageness in everything).
Cost is not a huge concern either way (not quite OT balla but run own consulting gig and doing fine)

biggest drawback to that area is that it's not the greatest environment to raise kids, unless you are really involved with them and their activities, the beach bum mentality and drug culture ruins a lot of kids before they even get out of high school
