Some wishful thinking Muschamp related recruiting ripples

There's some good recruits that love(ed) Boom. Some chance we can go from 2nd to 1st option with some of them.
On the note of Chavis' extension... if it's only 1yr because retirement is coming, and that 1yr is to get the next D-Coordinator in waiting. Well, there's this guy named Muschamp looking for a job and likely looking to just going back to being a D guy. Just throwing shite at the wall and see what sticks.

To be completely honest here.. all the guys we were hoping to have a chance with when Muschamp got fired are leaning towards Auburn and Alabama.

Don't forget Ole Miss Vermilion.

If I understand it correctly, the 1 yr extension was an automatic thing - it makes it where other teams can't use it against us in recruiting. Therefore it doesn't have to do with his retirement, from what I understand.

True, and if we get technical Derrick Dillon will probably end up at a&M now

Yeah, on the surface it seems great when your rival fires a coach, because you should benefit in some way. Then you realize we aren't really gonna get any recruits out of the deal, and they're that much closer to being competitive again. In this particular case, it may mean one of our other rivals lands a world class DC.

First off I think he will sit out because he is going to be negotiating his buy out. Normally guys stay out a year then they will get another job.
Muschamp will be the next DC in SC and probably the Head Coach after Spurrier leaves.

He will if he's smart.

I'm sorry, but that just isn't how it works. Sure, Boom is worthy of a DC gig instantly at any school. But, even a mid-tier program like USCe(an slowly ascending one), with aspirations of next level..
Isn't gonna give Boom their HC gig, even if he went there as DC, and had a successful run as such.
I haven't given up on Boom as a HC at a large platform, but he isn't getting a USCe type gig off a brief quality DC stint.
Think more like say a Vandy, if WM wanting a quick return to SEC HC, without requisite drop to lesser conference HC gig first(Tubby, Petrino, Cutcliff, Solich,etc..)

UF will hire a big name guy and mop up in recruiting.

There's nothing UF can do about it. But they are getting rid of their anchor this year as opposed to next.
Smart thinking by THEIR Athletic Director.
We need an AD who is an LSU fan, and not just a gainfully employed recipient of a niiiiiiice paycheck.

Isn't Florida's #1 target without head coaching experience going to be Kirby Smart?
If that happens (unlikely, but possible), won't Boom just slide into Smart's seat in Tuscaloosa?

I bet Boom joins Saban's staff, but I can't see Kirby at UF.

Black is white and white is black.
There are some of these recruits thinking that UF has their act together.
If mediocrity is a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10, then UF wants better. So do prospects.
